Confirm in-person arrangements
Ask the local registrar where to attend, whether appointments are needed and which steps involve both partners. Check local counseling or seminar instructions. Give yourself enough time between arriving on an international flight and an appointment that requires your physical attendance.
Track public notice and license issuance
The ordinary Family Code process includes ten consecutive days of public notice. That period is only one part of the schedule. Ask when notice begins for your accepted application and how you can learn that the license has been issued. Once issued, a license is valid for 120 days.
Confirm the actual ceremony
Check the authority and availability of the solemnizing officer, the venue and at least two adult witnesses. Keep an ordinary guest list separate from the witness arrangements. A wedding coordinator can organize the practical details, but the partners must attend and give their own consent.
