Begin with the registrar for the habitual residence of either partner. Give the office the exact type of UK evidence you obtained. Ask for the local forms, any counseling requirements, attendance instructions and the process for checking that the application is complete.
Use the notice period correctly
The ordinary license process includes ten consecutive days of public notice. The start depends on the filed application, not your flight arrival or the issue of a British document. Ask how to confirm release of the license and when it is safe to finalize the ceremony appointment.
Separate ceremony and reception logistics
The legal ceremony requires an authorized officer, the partners’ attendance and adult witnesses. A family meal or a resort photo session is a separate arrangement. Share one final date and location with suppliers after the ceremony arrangements are confirmed.
