Before the appointment
Read the Australian Embassy Manila CNI instructions after confirming the document is required. Prepare the application and check the requirements for the Australian applicant’s original valid passport, partner identification, and applicable prior-marriage evidence. Follow the embassy’s instructions about leaving the form unsigned until the appointment.
Who attends which appointment
The Australian applicant attends the consular appointment in person. The embassy explains when a non-Australian intended spouse generally need not attend that appointment. This specific consular rule does not remove the partners’ obligations at the Philippine marriage application or legal ceremony.
Check the document when issued
Compare names and other identifying details with the supporting records before leaving or submitting it. Confirm the local registrar’s acceptance and timing requirements. A CNI has its own practical acceptance window and does not extend the validity of the later Philippine marriage license.
